Creating a Better Residence Experience

Thanks to its voice interaction capabilities, the Robot Assistant will be able to welcome students and parents and provide information on a range of predefined topics.

Its 18.5-inch front display will showcase residence introduction videos and provide information about room types, social spaces, services, and registration processes. In this way, the Robot Assistant will serve as a mobile information and promotional point within the residence.

As we emphasize at every opportunity, we do our best to make life at Residorm as comfortable as possible, offering various opportunities and options to ease the burden on families. However, while doing this, we never compromise on our service quality and safe infrastructure. Since the life, safety, health, and comfort of our students are our guiding principles, we would like to share with you what lies behind our work and the measures we take.

Our natural gas-operated boilers are used for heating both our buildings and hot water. To ensure uninterrupted heating and hot water service, especially during the cold winter months, these boilers undergo regular inspection and maintenance by authorized services every summer.

Before mains water reaches our storage tanks, it passes through sand filters and softening devices, which remove all kinds of sediments and impurities. Thanks to our high-capacity water tanks, we are minimally affected by water cuts. These tanks are emptied, cleaned, and maintained every summer, so that we begin each new academic year with a fresh water supply.

To prevent the formation of Legionella bacteria in hot water pipelines, chemicals are added at regular intervals.

The elevators in our buildings are inspected daily by our technical staff, and their periodic checks and maintenance are carried out monthly by authorized service providers.

Our electronic fire detection systems cover the entire building, with maintenance performed four times a year by the authorized company.

The generators that directly supply power to our buildings and commercial areas are tested weekly by our technical staff and undergo servicing every six months by authorized providers. This prevents power outages in our dormitories. In addition, independent emergency lighting automatically activates in case of any power failure, illuminating corridors and exits for our students.

Each Residorm building is equipped with three fire pumps—one electric, one diesel, and one jockey pump—as well as a water tank reserved exclusively for firefighting. Our fire system is tested monthly, and the fire pumps are also regularly maintained by authorized services.

Across the entire building, more than one hundred CCTV security cameras are in operation and monitored 24/7 by our security staff. The footage is regularly recorded and kept ready to be shared with law enforcement if necessary.

On every floor where students reside and in common areas, multiple hot and cold water dispensers with purification systems are available. Water is transferred to these dispensers from the main purification system located in the boiler room and its storage tank. The main unit of this system consists of a multi-stage filtration process, including a sediment filter, particle filter, UV lamp, and carbon filter. The water reaching the dispensers on each floor then undergoes additional purification through alkaline filters, UV lamps, and sterilization with ozone, ensuring high-quality drinking water. Maintenance of these systems is performed every six months, with necessary filter replacements. Furthermore, samples are regularly taken and tested by authorized laboratories, and the results are posted next to the dispensers.

To monitor and control all these technical and safety systems mentioned above, our authorized technical personnel are on duty 24/7.

Additionally, regular inspections are carried out by external authorities as follows:

• Lightning rod controls and grounding measurements are performed by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers.
• All boilers, tanks, and elevators are inspected by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers.
• Water tank cleaning and inspections are carried out by the Municipality.
• Legionella and drinking water tests are conducted by the Municipality and the Public Health Institute.

4. Our fire detection systems are installed throughout the buildings and in every room. Their maintenance is carried out three times a year by the authorized service provider.
5. If the fire detection system is triggered by a flame, the alarm panel is activated, indicating the exact area or room of the alarm. This allows for immediate intervention and ensures that any fire is detected early and prevented from spreading.
6. If, for any reason, intervention is not made in the required time, the alarm system activates throughout the entire building, warning everyone. In addition, evacuation announcements in both Turkish and English are automatically broadcast through speakers installed across the building.
7. If timely or sufficient intervention is not provided at the fire’s location, the automatic sprinkler system is activated by excessive heat and extinguishes the fire.
8. Our backup generators, which directly supply our buildings, are tested weekly by our technical staff and undergo annual maintenance by authorized services. This ensures the prevention of power outages in our dormitories.
9. In the event of a power outage due to fire or any other reason, emergency lighting automatically switches on, illuminating corridors and all emergency exits for students.
10. Each dormitory building is equipped with three fire pumps—one electric, one diesel, and one jockey pump—along with a large water tank reserved exclusively for firefighting. Thanks to the diesel fire pump, the automatic extinguishing system continues to operate even if the power is cut during a fire. Our firefighting systems are tested at least twice a year by trained staff, and the fire pumps undergo regular maintenance by authorized services.
11. To protect against lightning strikes that may cause fires, our buildings are equipped with lightning rods. Their inspections and grounding measurements are carried out annually by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers.
12. All of our buildings are equipped with fire escape stairs. The exits from these staircases are designed with special fire doors that can only be pushed open from the inside. Regular inspections are conducted to ensure that nothing obstructs emergency evacuation routes.
13. Elevators are automatically disabled during fire or other emergencies. If someone is inside at the time, the elevator automatically descends to the ground floor, opens its doors, locks itself, and remains inactive until the emergency ends. All our elevators have a Green Safety Label and are inspected annually by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers. Additionally, monthly maintenance is carried out by authorized service providers.
14. During emergencies requiring evacuation, such as fires, the fingerprint access system on turnstiles is automatically disabled to prevent obstruction, allowing free passage.
15. In line with our Emergency Action Plan, fire and evacuation drills are conducted twice a year in all dormitory buildings with the participation of all students.
16. All rooms are equipped with residual current circuit breakers, preventing potential fires or electric shocks caused by electrical leakage or short circuits.
17. Our buildings are also equipped, in compliance with regulations, with fire extinguishers, hoses, and firefighting equipment for manual intervention. These are regularly inspected and maintained, while fire extinguishers are refilled and relabeled annually.
18. Emergency Evacuation Plans are posted in all rooms and common areas.
19. All of our dormitories are inspected twice a year by officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
20. Our buildings are licensed after passing fire safety inspections by the municipality and the fire department.
21. And of course, to monitor and control all the technical and safety systems mentioned above, our authorized technical and administrative staff are on duty 24/7.
